Try using a metric head stud removing tool if there is
enough of the stud left to grab on too.  If not, Snap
On EZ outs will surely get it out.  They have never
let me down.  I have used red locktite, which will
only release if heated, to secure head studs before.
If this is not a good idea on Vanagon studs, I'm sure
someone reading this will let us know.  Good luck.
