I think that Larry is dead on!
I love my bus but even more important than that is the people that I
have met that own them.
Yes, like the bus they are different.
I really honor and appreciate that difference.
There are individuals in a cookie cutter world that wants conformity
and uniformity.
As Larry suggests there is a connection that some of us have with our
buses that almost enters the
realm of the mystical.
Some of you make get a laugh out of that but the people I care about on
here will now exactly
what I mean.
It's the bus thing.
Somehow the westy is me.
Somehow I am the westy.
Whenever I am behind the wheel I have a smile on my face.
Maybe somebody who drive a Hummer feels that way but I kinda doubt it.
I don't profess to understand it, I just know how I feel.
I love this 20 year old bus with all my heart.
Just got back from the Baja and I kinda get a kick out of kids and
workers on the highway giving us
the peace sign. It's all part of the bus thing.
So I think we are talking about much more than reliability here.
Much more.
It's freedom. It's the open road. It's the connection to the
wilderness. It's about soul.
It's about spirit and connection to others who share those values,
which seems to include many
westy owners.
For those who want to whine and complain about the vehicle go ahead
they probably don't know
what I'm talking about anyway.
