HEy, this is not the worse engine i have seen.... but al VW, Mazda engine rust easily up here...but this one, mostly surface rust.... still, i agree, very scary. The one i did before was a nightmare: http://www.benplace.com/head3/100_0007.jpg pictures from the Titanic bolts, yea yea...true! they use 13mm on that boat. Driving in our northern streets in winter time is like driving in the Ocean... Salt will kill cars / van in a few years if this one desn't have rust protection. You can compare salt dammage to a car to the sun that killed paint in AZ... But hey, nothing scare me now...i have seen worse! let see what this engine as inside this afternoon, fist i got to get those exhaust bolt out...that can be painfull sometime...
