Wouldn't the AFM be more load dependent? To the AFM, it doesn't know (or care) what the RPM is, just how much power the engine is putting out... Now if that 100rpm range was different at 1/2 throttle or 3/4 or full... that would be more AFM related (or at least so it seems to me). Hall sender/distributor should be the only RPM-specific sensing thing in the engine.
