Subject: How to remove and install broken head stud
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello everyone, It is very unfortunate that one of the lower middle (#4 according to Bentley) cylinder head stud broke off during the final torque down. There is no other way but remove the broken stud and replace it with a new one from Bus depot. I search the archieve, still not completely sure what is the best way to remove the broken/weak stud. Without a good knowledge of how, I am afraid of doing more damage to the engine block. I would appreciate very much who had the experience removing and installing head studs to throw me a hint or two. I found no one mentioned how to install the new stud in the Archieve, do I simply screw it back in place, or is it necessary to apply some sort of bonding material to secure the new stud on the block?
