Most minivans are based on a stretched (if at all) car chassis. Their weight capacity barely exceeds their passenger load. (check close because back a couple years ago one of them had its extra seat option pulled because of that) the vanagon is based on a commercial van base. To create a camper from a van you need to start with a commercial van base.
