its actually supposed to be a '84.. but, as with any TV or movie series, they have duplicate vehicles.. so they may had a '83 aircooled as a duplicate.. most of time during the series they showed TC (the black guy) driving a '84 7 pass as the Island Hoppers van.. fwiw, one of the originals turned up on ebay a few yrs ago in atlanta... no bids.. i wonder where it is now..
