That bang is probably a backfire. It is destroying your AFM. When you're engine is just starting the flapper in your AFM is partially open when you backfire it drives that flapper closed real hard and the electronics in your AFM are taking a beating. One little rod that sets the fuel pump microswitch will eventually bend and they you get to walk home. Set your timing and correct all your vacuum leaks before you're afoot.
