I ended up cutting the door to the drivers side battery compartment and leaving the terminals intact. This way you can easily jump start from your optima if need be. (I used the factory caps from the optima to protect the semi-exposed terminals but you can't even tell they are there under the carpet. Keep your terminals and your warantee.
