Optima is a brand name for an extremely reliable battery.  Of a type  called
Glass Mat.  First time I bought one was for a bug after one of the VW mags
ran an article on them.  That one is now running in a jeep cherokee and if I
remember right is about 8 years old right now.  The only two real downsides
are the cost, and the difficulty in fitting it into the van holes.

If you want true deep cycle use you want the marine blue tops.  These are
the ones with an M in the part number.
