Hi John,

I just acquired some OEM 14" wheels with 205/70R14 tires on them and was about to embark on the same task for my 84 Westy.

I have looked at BusDepot and Vanagain and did not find info about longer wheel studs very readily. I also looked at GoWesty and VolksCafe. Both have some good information. Volkscafe has the 65mm studs for the rear hubs. (but currently out of stock) This requires taking the rear drums off to get to the hub and bang the crap out of the short stock studs to replace with these. I have not yet tried to see if the stock studs are too small for the stock mags, I suspect that they are.

For the front of our vans there are some other bolts available from Go Westy at:

The fronts should be straight forward.

Let me and the list know what you end up doing and how you resolved the rear studs.

Am I reading the Bently right when it says to remove the rear drum and hub, then press them out / back in? Is there a better or easier way to do it?

I'm assuming the studs from the donor could be used, but it would be simpler and easier to just replace them. What length of stud should I be getting?

john
