In a nutshell -

I use a wrench, cheater and a bathroom scale. For example, if you hold the cheater 3' from the nut, divide the torque setting by 3. Subtract that number from your weight on the scale, and push down until the xcale indicates your weight is equal to your calculated value. If you are pushing up on the cheater, add the torque value to your weight rather than subtracting it.

Did a smack and line up on a bug once. Havent done it since. Stripped out my nice new drum in a week.

If I donΉt have my big torque wrench with me I have my 24 inch breaker. My scrawny self standing on the end gives about 280 and then a little jump to kick it over a little more. Then I try to line up the cotter key. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• jimt Planned insanity is best.
