Most of the swappers I have talked with a saying that the upright normal position engine has less vibration problems. These can lead to alternator bracket cracks and shorter life on the exhaust parts. Most of the newer converters that I have talked with are staying with the stock injection and computers. As for WRX motors. Not needed for anything except macho. 2.2 subie for me.
