First off, a big thanks for Chris Dabrowski, a listee who made special arrangements with family and friends to get a sliding door and various parts to me across the border and a ferry. Another great dealing with a listee who I highly recommend.

Secondly, I finally managed to get my '82 sliding door working nearly as well as my '88, with the help of parts from the spare door. The rear hinge rollers are still a bit worn, but the door is so much better now than it was. My kids can even open it now! The two things that made the most difference were replacing the bottom roller/bearing, and the top square plastic block with a roller bearing as used on later vans. So for those with cranky pre-86 doors, there is hope yet...
