Joe, You can certainly use the power antenna wire on the head unit if it's always powered when the unit is on. Some HU's are smart enough to lower the antenna when you're listening to a CD.

There will most likely be a remote turn-on wire designed to switch amplifiers, though. I'm sure the Kenwood Sub will have a terminal for the remote. If you still have the manual for the HU, it should call this out on the wiring diagrams.
