Robert: Maaayybee, BUT: How can you stand the racket? anything that rattles in my car bothers me. It diverts my attention form hearing the important things like loose shifter bushings and upper control arm bushings, etc. (I do have ADD, so maybe I'm hypersensitive to such inputs!) SOO, I just never take the key out of the car. Out of the ignition, and onto the factory built holder for it ahead of the tach/ clock. On the one vehicle that occasionally gets locked, I have another key for the door lock on my ring. After a decade or so of doing this, it is just so pleasant to not have to dig for keys. I guess our old 1960 Corvette spoiled me- It had an unlocked off position- you could drive it all the time without a key and never lock it. I seldom lock the Vanagons anyway, none of the bad people around here would want one, NONE of them would know how to drive a stick, and most of them are afraid of me- because I look too scary? Seriously, need to borrow my car? the keys are in it. Al Brase
