Well, I've given it a lot of thought, and though I hate to turn a viable van into a pile of rubble, the figures don't lie.

I'm keeping the tranny, as I have a direct and immediate need for it. The tranny out of the '88 GL will be available if anyone wants it. It works in all four gears, but is a bear to shift into 2nd. I can ship it to Darryl practically free if that helps anyone.

Everything else is available, including a strong 1.9L engine of unknown mileage complete with everything to make it run. Body panels are all fairly straight with no rust, though most have minor dings here and there.

Parts that are interchangeable with my '85 Westy or '88 GL may or may not be available - just ask. I'm keeping the fuel pump, for instance.

Disassembly should begin next weekend.

Karl Wolz
