Take the alternator to a shop with an impact.

It'll come right off.

Hi all,                 I did an archives search but came up empty for a method of taking off the alternator pulley with the alternator off the engine. I'm afraid of bending the fan part of the alternator while trying to stop the shaft from rotating. Anyone done this? Thanks. Rick Koller '90 syncro westie '91 carat, gl
