I'm sure Andrew will be vanagon proof after he sells his troublesome van. There are lots of cars and trucks I'd never consider owning unless I bought them really cheap. My family members are all aware of my Westy years and more recently my Porsche years but I can't imagine any of them owning either vehicle. They simply don't work on cars. They don't repair their own lawn mowers. I recently found a fellow that buys cars from the local Charity auctions that have been donated. He stated that in most cases $400.00 will get you a car that will pass inspection in Texas and if it doesn't pass the next year he just donates it and buys another $400.00 car that will pass inspection. He says he's had pretty good luck and the cars often last two years before he needs a repair that cost more than his purchase price. I hope Andrew gets most of his money back and can go on with a dependable vehicle that doesn't require paranoid maintenance procedures each day to motivate it down his driveway.
