Stan, frankly I'm a little puzzled with your response. I spoke with the tech folks at techline before I bought and applied that product. After, following their technical advice, I was completely happy with the results. I'm guessing you are aware that Black Satin (retail) can be optionally baked...the exhaust heat seems to have done the job quite fine. It is well known in the performance community that retaining exhaust gas temperature increases gas velocity. The purpose of ceramic coating an exhaust, other than cosmetics and corrosion control, is specifically to keep heat in, not to disperse it. What you are suggesting is in direct contradiction of the relationship of volumetric efficiency to temperature. Applying the product you suggested to an exhaust would increase engine bay heat and reduce exhaust gas velocity...both things you want to avoid:-) |
