Subject: I think I TRULY fixed my surging problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Well I think I finally figured out/fixed my problem (surging on my '84's 1.9). I determined that there were no vacuum leaks. And after all of the components that I had changed (vac hoses, o2 sensor, plugs, heads, etc.), I thought I might have fixed a problem that had been lurking before and perhaps been bandaged over. I had gotten my idle to stop surging (or at least not AS bad), by turning my idle speed screw in a couple of turns (I was confused though becuase my idle speed never really changed... at least until I turned it a few more turns and realized that it had been turned out so far that it wasn't even registering). Then I screwed up my courage to attempt to adjust my CO screw, since despite working out my idle and surging my O2 sensor was still stuck around .9. I went to turn it in a little and it wouldn't move...darn thing was fully seated. As I turned it out, I slowly watched my O2 readings get closer and closer to spec until it got to around .5 at 3.5 turns from seated. Now it's smooth and surge free (yeah!). Thanks for all the advice guys.

-nate
