Does anyone know how Datsun got it's name? It is reputed by a knowlegable source that when Nissan wanted to start selling cars in america, the went to VW for assistanst in naming their new car company. After all,VW was very successful . Well VW was busy and told the Nissan people to come back in a week and they would have the new name that they needed. 2 days went by and the people at Nissan started to get nervous and impatiant,so the went back to VW and asked if they could come up with a name in 2 days. The VW people answered back Dat Soon? I think it took Nissan 15 years to figure it out.
