Ron & Chris,

The weight Bob seems oddly low compared to the other data I'm receiving.

Although his input was the only pre-1985 Vanagon I received.

The next closest comparison was a 1990 Westfalia (full kitchen) at 5000 lbs ... Loaded for camping.

I sent an email to Bob asking a few clarification questions.

BTW ... I will summarixe and post the results when the survey Is completed.

Based on these numbers, a fully-laden Vanagon would certainly weigh more than a fully-laden Audi 5000, because it can hold a lot more cargo. No surprise there. (Also, an '85 or later Vanagon would probably weigh a good 100 lbs more than an '84, due to the additional weight of the air conditioning and power steering components.)
