Idling your engine for 20 minutes will charge your battery more than a 500
dollar 75 watt solar panel on a bright, sunny day.  Solar is great but your
alternator is better.  I ran my sailboat for years off 2 75 watt solar
panels.    Gas was expensive and marinas were few and far between.
