Pull the fuel filter and check it out. Use the following technique.

Clamp off the line from the tank.

Loosen both clamps and the hoses so that the filter will remove easily Then remove the pump side hose and put a finger over the hole to keep fuel from coming out of the filter. Then with the tank side pointing up remove from the hose and then with that filter full of fuel pour into a small clean container after shaking the filter well.

Check what kind of crud and water is in the filter. jimt
