Bill, I looked into using one of those. There will be no problem installing it as long as your have the vanagon oil pan. VW made the ecodiesel to burn clean, not make power or save fuel, so you'll end up with 60 horse instead of the 70 a TD makes. But it's still better than 50. The injector pump is different from the TD, it pumps less and doesn't have the aneroid compensator for barometric pressure changes on top of the pump. Which means it fits under the rear lid with no modification. The turbo is a little smaller too, or doesn't make as much boost as the TD, or both. I don' remember. I thing everything else about it is the same as the TD 1.6. If you want to talk to someone who's doing a conversion right now, either to to the Yahoo! diesel group and join or email me directly. Jim
