I forgot.... """""""""how much more would I need to drain to change the thermostat and/or water pump? """""""""""" Can you jack the read end???? if yes, jack it as high as you can, don't drain it under the left side water jacket as sugested per Bentley, simply remove Expension tank and water pump, i would say....you will loose about 3 liters / quarts of coolant. Also, when the rear end is in the air, there is no need to bleed a 2.1L. One other thing, change the thermostat before you raise the van, less coolant will be lost. Am draining so many Vanagon those days....am starting to be a coolant specialist...he he he Nice to see some people who care about environnement... As a shop, i have to pay for that, it would be cheaper and easier to poor it in the toilet... Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/vw2.htm |
