Sounds like an easy enough project for someone with a welder. H shaped base with a hole for the steel studs (feet). Then makes an upside down U-like or V-shape to catch the latch from the back.

Unfortunately, it does not sound too practical as the so called stand would be too bulky and unwieldy. That is unless someone comes up with a folding version...
