Hi Bill,

The ECOdiesel would be '90-92 I think, and I don't know that they were sold in Canada - check the engine code to confirm type - ECO is 1V I think. Doesn't matter, it's still a good choice for a conversion. Add a TD pump with aneriod and you will have the advantage of a faster spooling turbo and more power. I am putting a 1.6TD in my '88, and I still have that fuel tank for you, so if you come over, you'll be able to see the various pieces & how they go together. There are some pics of an ECO engine in Andrew's folder on the Diesel-Vanagon yahoo group site. The turbo still doesn't clear the engine mount, but is not quite as bad as the standard TD one if I recall.

I assume you have the stock 1.6D now?
