I used Aeroquip braided lines and fittings on one of my Syncros, along with fuel rails that have built in VDO pressure guages($175@) and a after market, adjustable fuel pressure($250) for a 914. It all works like a charm. It cost about $750 to put together. The toughest part is making the connection from the Syncro tank to the new fuel line. I couldn't find braided stainless to match the stock size coming out of the tank. The OD was the same but the ID did fit, way too tight. John is correct, the AN fittings will work nicely through the firewall. Since making my set the hose has changed a bit and you can get crimpless, reuseable fittings and a more cost effective hose to work with. It doesn't have the braided stainless showing on the outside, but carries the same pressures without crimping. I think it is for NOS systems in Fast& Furious cars. I'm sure you can find in at Summit Racing. Earl's fitting are a bit cheaper also. Hope this helps anyone looking to upgrade from stock.
