Just a question about the firewall connector. I had heard the same
thing about them being dangerous and with mine being 20 years old I got
rid of it when I did a subaru conversion. Instead of a fitting, I just
ran a piece of hose through the old hole and then glued a bit of larger
heater hose to the outside where it goes through the hole for a shield
against chafing. The toughest part was getting the fuel hose onto the
rigid lines that run from the pump to the firewall as it was difficult
to access.

Now that I've done this, is there a good reason why I should have put a
new firewall connector there?
