Hi Bryan, I've got a Thule clone roof rack that I regularly carry a canoe and gear on -- say 75 lbs. I can't lift the top from the inside, but if I get up on the luggage rack and lift the front of the canoe, it's no problem. Leverage is a wonderful thing. I need my wife to push the bar inside into place --- but I'm quite sure I could rig a rope through the screened window so I could do the whole thing myself. It would be very easy to attach a bar perpendicular to your load bars to give you enough leverage to lift the space box and top yourself.

Cheers, Doug
