I agree, and your timing is perfect - I actually just spent the last 10 minutes staring at
this thing - how does it come off? It appears I'd need a puller to get it off. I need to
get the whole clutch lever arm out so I can replace the bushing/seals or whatever is
in there.

Since I'm here, I might as well ask what I came here for - I just took a break from
removing the bell housing from my new 5 speed. It had been standing on end for a
period of time, and there was some water in it, maybe a few ounces at most, but also
very little oil, as the PO had already taken the b/h off. So now that I'm this far, what
can I do to check this trans with basic tools? I plan to replace the input shaft seal, it
was weaping a bit from stand on end (hardly at all), but I don't want to mess with it
again.

Is there anything I can/should inspect at this point without getting over my head (ie:
spending money)? All gears appear to shift/turn fine. There is slightly more
noise/play when I rock the input shaft in any gear, as compared with my 4 speed, but
it has oil, this one doesn't.

It has way more build up than I'm used to seeing - a dark brown sludge on the walls
of the case and the diff - everywhere. A small bit of metal on the magnet, but not
much. Is there something I can flush the trans with to remove the sludge before I put
my good MT90 in? ATF? Engine Flush?
