I stated the 1.5 hours based on a section on 81 in southern virginia [ just south of Roanoke? ] I was driving last week. It took us about 22-25 minutes to drive it [ lotsa uphill and ALL fog] at 70 - 60 - 50[fog] - 70 - 50[fog] -70 mph in my dad's passat. I looked at the the grade and know I would definately be in second gear with the westy full of camping gear. Despite the traffic - it sounds like 95 is a better choice for southbound travel.
