( crap) I was checking my box-o-stuff and I have a manual rack (complete) and the larger diameter steering wheel. The line is leaking over the gas tank (passenger side) and looks nasty. As well as the lines of the rack its self. My question has any one replaced the power rack with a non power Manual rack. I am thinking just replace and be done with it. I would appreciate someone sharing there experiences before I jump in.
Jim, before you decide to give up on the power steering consider replacing those rusted lines with the hydraulic hoses I offer to permanently repair this problem. See my _Vanagon Power Steering Lines_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/hose.htm) webpage for complete details.
