Did you have the radiator replaced or rehabilitated? Makes me wonder if maybe you didn't have another underlying problem with the 'variety of engines' over the last three years- as in, perhaps you were running them too hot on that long trip of yours and didn't realize it? Just a thought. Cya, Robert ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry Chase" <roadguy@ROADHAUS.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, April 01, 2005 7:59 AM Subject: Low Engine Temps
Volks, Finally got the "Haus" out of the shop yesterday .. 6 week "Engine Coolant" ordeal. I'll do a full post mortem report in a couple of days. One question ... The engine temp gauge is running at "Half" the normal temp. At normal operating temp, it is only half way from the bottom to the LED. For the last three years over a variety of engines, the temps has always been close to or mid way on the LED. The shop tells me they checked the actual temps and everything looks ok. Any thoughts on the gauge reading? larry chase roadhaus.com |
