If it was a German market vehicle there should be nothing written in the door, especially in English.

My German "weekender" with the folding bed, pop up table and rear facing seats said "TRANSPORTER" on the back. Transporter was simple a designation of a commercial vehicle. I have also been told that there are some body reinforcements done to all the ones badged TRANSPORTER so they could hold up to the stress of a commercial environment. These mods were similar to mods done to the Syncro 16 models.

I've got an 86 westy that's had me wondering about something....There's a Transporter emblem attached on the back. What's up with that? The p.o. said this van was bought in Germany and brought over. The inside door plate says "incomplete vehicle manufactured" Type: multi purpose passenger vehicle. Is there any physical difference between this and every other westy out there? The only thing I've seen that MIGHT be different is that with 225 55 R 16 tires there's still plenty of room, and others have posted trouble going to this size tire.
