I agree, but I can only get a week's time (i.e. vacation) from any will participant in this venture.

>Yellowstone deserves much more than a few hours (cripes you can sped a few hours just around the geyser basin and that doesn't begin to cover all of Yellowstone.) Kim

Agree again, fortunately for me, I spent more than over two weeks in Yellowstone 6 years ago and more than a week there 2 years ago - that's one place I have seen much more thoroughly than the average person. My friend saw it with our family on the last trip. Basically we are dropping down to Cody where we have friends - but might traverse the park to make the ride more scenic.

That is true. On our one month trip from Mass to Yellowstone, we went in June and it was a great time. We did get hail, and some snow (no accumulation) but mixed with warm sunshine on the same day. The baby bison are just awesome to see. June is a great month to visit Yellowstone. June is also easy camping, then the last week of June, school is out and all of a sudden, you need campground reservations or to get to non-reservable campgrounds way early.

BTW on that 1-month trip - 48 hours from Mass, 5 miles from the ocean to Cody WY in 48hrs - w 2 kids under 5! Then we took our sweet time for the reamining 28 or so days, using about 5-6 days to come back, the rest spent in Yellowstone and the grand tetons and visiting with friends.
