Sorry to hear your wife (and kids) decided not to go along...we have great
family memories of our similar trip.  Check out the Westfalia owners web
site for things to bring along for repairs.  There is a very good list
there and discussion about tools and spare parts.  Dont forget the duct
tape!  I can almost guarentee you will use it for something.
