Don, Jon, et al:
Those formulas work in AC, too. Completely work in resistance loads. In
reactive loads, one has to take power factor into account. (Reactive
loads would be those where windings and ferrous cores are present- like
electric motors, transformers and ballasts.) BTW, this is my profession,
if one could say I had one!
As for party lights, I'd say the simple answer is- get a different set
of values! Turn on, tune in, drop out? Maybe just light up your coleman,
or a camp fire? (Whaerver works!)
