Benny Boy just 17 in 6 months If you cant make he rocker rock then it sounds like the push rods might not be centered in the lifter his gives you no free play in the rocker and can make you wonder that is going on The 2 last printings of the Bentley Book says preloading is optional I recomend 0 lash hot or 006ths cold The 006ths cold is for assembly and 0 hot is done when the van is sorted out and running
