Subject: Engine swap questions (1.9 van w/2.1 to 2.1 van)
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I'm considering the following scenario and could use some advice: I have a line on an engine from a van that originally had a 1.9 engine and now has a nearly new 2.1 engine in it. I'm thinking about swapping it into my 88 Westy with the 2.1. The question: I've heard that basically all the engine parts/accessories from the donor van (that previously had a 1.9) will not be compatible with my 2.1 system in my 88 (fuel injection system, etc.). Is there any reason that a 2.1 long block from the donor van (with all the accessories removed) would not work in my current 2.1 van? Of course, I'd have to switch over the parts and stuff from my current engine.

Thanks for any thoughts! Brian W.
