Subject: R 134 charging
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

My '91 was converted to R 134 from R12 two years ago. Last year I added more coolant to increase the cooling ability. Now it is time for another re-charge and I question my procedure. Is the air conditioning system supposed to be running when the re-charge nozzle is attached to the place where you refill it ? Last year as I recall I just connected the hose from the R134 can and pressed the valve button on top of the can. It seemed to work and the output air was much cooler than it was before re-charging but I have the thought in mind that maybe I should have the air cinditioning running while adding coolant. Any advice ?
