My personal shipping wisdom & experience Shipping oversize stuff is too spendy with UPS... I ship most all my trannys with UPS because Fedex doesn't like the heavy stuff and they are not convenient for me..A 100 lb tranny runs about $90 give or take destination and they all get there in one piece due to my bubble wrap packing. Fed Ex is cheaper to Canada due to their lower fees DHL (was Airborne) is trying to get into the market and is cheaper for now... Beware small towns that may only get fedex or dhl deliverys once a week or not at all...UPS will go to them ALL daily. I had a G50 porshe tranny shipped from Alabama via truck...cost me $285 The key to shipping heavy stuff is to pack it so it won't move in the box...A shrp edge of something will hammer at the box and poke thru, where as a secured item will just sit there happy & content. Greyhound takes packages fairly cheap Amtrack used to... nuf said....Daryl of AA Trans
