Hans was absolutely right. The passenger side tire was damaged, that was a michelin passenger car tire installed by previous owner. I have now installed two new tires at the front and the problem goes away. These are Capitol tires. P185 R14 8 ply, cost only $55.00 each here in Houston, Texas. I now have all 4 capitol tires. 50psi rear and 45psi front. I had just put new AMC heads on the engine, new brake rotors, new pads. Waw... I think I have solve all the problems. Nothing will stop me now for the spring camping trip...

pothole or a curb. I had this in one tire and when going very slow the steering wheel would jump
every time that spot hit the ground. Cheaper passenger-rated tires are damaged easily like this.
Mount the spare on the front passenger side and see if the problem disappears.
