Subject:      pH meters for around the shop

so i have been wanting a pH meter for measuring different fluids around
the shop such as salt solutions, coolant, possibly oil, and various other
pet projects.  i don't want to spend a ton of money on one so i was
wondering if anyone had advice on the subject.  i am currently considering
investigating the pH meters sold to measure garden soil pH.  does anyone
know if those would be up to the task?
