Subject: Rear crankshaft seal (late Vanagon)

Hey guys, late Vanagon 2.1L have a different pulley, well, they have an add-on....on the shaft that insert onto the crank... (Grrrrrr, i don't have any picture), anyway, that "insert" fit onto the pulley and make the "seal" into the crankshaft seal.... the total diameter of that pulley (where is goes inside) is bigger that earlier Vanagon, even 2.1L, so in other words, the real seal that comme in the gasket kit is too small.... what i have seen is it seem to be the same for most vans with 3 belts (Air cond.)....

I am going to the dealer this morning to see if there is other rear crankshaft seal for that pulley or late Vanagon...this is a Syncro am working on right now but i have seen that pulley on 2WD model also... i would appreciate your input.

Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/amc_head/amc16.jpg
