A few random questions occur to me as I sit here, and trawling the archives has been for naught... Is the crank pulley retaining bolt on a regular ol' 2.1l take a 30mm socket? I need to buy one and can't reach it to measure for sure... Is the multi-pin connector for the Digifant ECU an item unique to the Vanagon, or are there other similar-vintage VW vehicles from which a mechanically (if not electrically) similar connector can be scavenged? Roughly what dimensions are the retrofit metal plates VW installed to fix the sagging AC duct problem? What is it about rear engine VW's that turns otherwise sane people into nuts?
