On the later models I think you have to remove the AC belt? Which has a tensioning bolt; where as the alternator doesn't so you need to use a large screwdriver or pry bar to tighten the belt. There are two bolts that need to be loosened on the alt: the bottom pivot bolt (the back side of the bolt you'll need a long extension on you socket wrench) and the bolt on the slide. Removing the AC belt is a bit more complicated: two pivot bolts (Allen), two slide bolts, and a tensioning bolt (and the plastic snap on guard.)

Loosen alternator , change the belt, tighten the alternator.

Sometimes the Bentley is just good bathroom reading material. Nothing more.

BUT, just for the sake of curiosity. Why would anyone need a service manual to change somehing as simple as a belt???
