CHECK THIS OUT:

I saw this item on ebay. It is allegedly a proto-type from Westfalia. It is
three separate fiberglass enclosed boxes. The system is for installtion in the
 Vanagon Westfalia roof top luggage rack. The three of these cells match the
contours of the luggage rack and can be strapped into the rack to keep
contents  dry and in one place--according to the seller on ebay.

The guy selling has only two for sale, but has a photo of a Westfalia with
all three installed in the roof rack. If there were three available it  might
be worth paying a fortuen for. But I'm not too sure what use the one for  sale
would be without the others. the guy says he has another for sale at a  future
date.

It's an interesting item to check out--even if only to look at the photos.
It's a shame Westfalia did not go in to production with these.
